Austin is one of the most popular bachelorette destinations in the country — think tacos, live music, rooftop cocktails, and lake days. Here’s your detailed guide to planning the perfect celebration.

When You Land

Airport: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is only about 15 minutes from downtown.

Rideshare: Uber/Lyft are plentiful, but prices surge during peak hours and big events (SXSW, ACL). The Uber/Lyft pickup is located in one of the parking garages, so be sure to follow the signs.

We recommend FETII. Fetii is a rideshare service built specifically for groups. Their clean, on-demand 15-passenger vans pick up your whole crew in one vehicle. It’s the smart, affordable way to get around town.

It’s like a party bus… but more chill, cheaper, and way easier to book. Use code 365AUSTIN for 50% off your first 3 rides!

Best Times to Visit

Spring (March–May): Perfect weather, tons of festivals.

Fall (Sept–Nov): Still warm, with big events like ACL & Formula 1.

Summer (June–Aug): Hot, but great for lake and pool parties.

Where to Stay

Downtown: Ideal if you want to walk between bars, rooftops, and restaurants. Hotels: The LINE, Fairmont, Austin Proper, JW Marriott, The Loren.

South Congress (SoCo): Boutique vibes, shopping, iconic murals. Hotels: Hotel Saint Cecilia, South Congress Hotel.

East Austin: Trendy, eclectic, cocktail bars & coffee shops. Hotels/Airbnbs: Arrive Hotel, vibey modern rentals.

Here is our detailed guide and why we’d choose certain hotels vs. others.

What to Do (Daytime Fun)

Lake Party: Rent a party barge on Lake Travis or Lake Austin. Pack swimsuits, floaties, drinks, and playlists. Lake Travis is about 45 minutes from the city (definitely recommend booking a FETTI if you rent a boat on that lake). For lake rentals we love  Pink Boat Austin or Getmyboat.

Pool Scene: Book a cabana at the Fairmont or W Hotel for poolside drinks & DJ vibes.

Hill Country Wine Tour: Dripping Springs is 40 minutes away — wineries + breweries with scenic Hill Country views.

Shopping & Photos: South Congress is filled with boutiques and murals (“I Love You So Much” & “Greetings from Austin”).

Live Music: Catch a show at Mohawk, Contiental Club or a honky-tonk night at Broken Spoke for classic Austin energy.

Here is our detailed guide on activities and our Nightlife Map.

Where To Eat

Austin’s dining scene is made for a bachelorette weekend — fun, flavorful, and full of personality. Whether you’re craving Tex-Mex, coastal bites, or modern Southern comfort, there’s something for every vibe and budget.

Lively Group-Friendly Spots: Most restaurants are used to hosting big, celebratory tables. Expect shareable plates, upbeat playlists, and patios perfect for pre-dinner drinks.

Tex-Mex & Margaritas: You can’t come to Austin without queso and margs — local staples like Matt’s El Rancho or ATX Cocina bring that festive energy.

Trendy Hotspots: For a chic dinner before a night out, try Suerte, Este, or Justine’s — all known for incredible food and stylish atmospheres.

Brunch is a Big Deal: Expect long lines and even longer mimosa lists. Favorites include Perla’s, La Piscina, and June’s All Day for daytime celebrations.

Patios & Rooftops: Austin’s warm weather means outdoor dining is a must — from Loro’s backyard BBQ vibes to Zanzibar’s rooftop cocktails downtown.

Oysters: While we know we are not on a coast, that doesn’t mean we don’t have options for great oysters. Check out our favorite spots to get them here.

💡 Tip: Make reservations early, especially for weekend dinners or large groups, and plan to linger — Austin meals often flow right into drinks and dancing.

Here is our detailed guide on places to eat.

365 Austin’s Perfect Weekend Itinerary

As someone who has been here for over 20 years and lived in the downtown area, if we were planning making the itinerary this is what it would look like:

Arrival Day – Thursday:

La Piscina

Evening: Dinner at La Piscina. Enjoy rooftop vibes, the best fajitas in Austin and margs that will go down like water.

Friday:

Morning: walk the Lady Bird Lake trail and stop at Veracruz for breakfast tacos or walk over to Two Hands on South Congress.

Day Time: Spa Day at the Fairmont, their spa is packed with amenities, you can order champagne to the spa (v important). As someone who has been to all notable spa in the Austin area, this one is it.

Late Afternoon: Head to South Congress for local shopping and a cocktail. Can’t go wrong with a drink on Perla’s patio or a bottle of wine at June’s.

Dinner: Head to the Eastside for dinner. Justine’s would be my pick. After dinner head out to local bars in the area, White Horse would be a great place to start!

Saturday:

Lake Day. I’d pick the earlier time, aim for getting out there around 11 and off by 3pm. If it’s summer you are going to be exhausted (and likely drunk) from being in the sun.

Dinner: Tómalo Grill on Rainey Street would be a good place to have dinner because plates are shareable then you can easily hit the bars on Rainey. ATX Cocina is not far from Rainey Street and also would make a good dinner spot with their shareable plates.

Sunday:

Morning: if time allows I’d head to Paperboy for breakfast before airport.

Austin’s food scene is as fun and vibrant as its nightlife, making it the perfect city for a bachelorette weekend packed with memorable meals. Whether you’re brunching with mimosas under the Texas sun, grabbing tacos between poolside cocktails, or sitting down for a lively dinner before a night out on Rainey Street, there’s no shortage of delicious options.

Make reservations when possible. Many spots get busy, especially on weekends.

Breakfast / Brunch:

Josephine House

Vibe & setting: A charming, cottage-turned-restaurant in Clarksville, with indoor cozy seating, a small marble bar, shady patio nooks, and a grassy lawn out front.

Why it works for a bachelorette group: It feels elegant and relaxed — great for those who want a “pretty brunch” without being too loud or chaotic. There’s also a private event / buyout possibility (indoor + outdoor) which could be handy for larger groups.

Menu highlights: Their lemon ricotta pancakes are a standout, and they also offer brunch classics like steak & eggs, huevos rancheros, avocado toast, pastries, and locally sourced dishes.

Watch-outs / tips: The indoor seating is fairly small (some group members have noted limited inside capacity) — on busy days the patio is essential. Reservations are recommended

Two Hands

Vibe & setting: Australian-inspired, light, airy, modern but casual. They emphasize fresh, health-minded meals, community, and locally sourced ingredients.

Why it works for a bachelorette group: It’s relaxed but elevated — a nice bridge between casual and classy. The menu has variety (from healthy bowls to indulgent brunch items), and the space supports a social, comfortable brunch.

Menu highlights: They do brunch all day, with items like smoked salmon toast, seasonal scrambles, waffles, and brunch staples. Also good drink/cocktail selection.

Watch-outs / tips: For larger groups (8+), reach out ahead (they have a policy for such groups) . This spot is on South Congress so you can easily shop around while before or after you get a table!

Paperboy

Vibe & setting: Started as a food truck, now with brick-and-mortar spots (East 11th and South Lamar). Warm, comfortable, approachable with both indoor and outdoor seating (including rooftop in some cases).

Why it works for a bachelorette group: It’s reliably good, crowd-pleasing, and energetic without being over the top. Great for mixing brunch + social time. The rooftop / outdoor areas are fun for photos, catching sun, etc.

Menu highlights: Their “Texas Hash,” chicken & biscuit, Paperboy Pancake, and housemade pastries are fan faves. They also have solid coffee and cocktails.

Watch-outs / tips: It gets busy — waits are common, especially on weekends.  Consider going early or making reservations (or using the to-go window).

Expansion note: Their South Lamar location is newer, with more indoor + patio capacity, which might be more comfortable for groups.

Veracruz Tacos

Vibe & setting: More casual, taco-centric, genuine, unpretentious. It began as a food truck and expanded. The location in the Line Hotel is a great spot to hit up after walking the Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail.

Why it works for a bachelorette group: If your group is into a fun, local, casual vibe (think brunch tacos, laid-back energy), this can be a standout. It’s less “dress up brunch” and more “vibe + flavor.”

Menu highlights: Their breakfast tacos are beloved — flexible, flavorful, perfect for brunching.

Watch-outs / tips: Not as fancy or spacious as other brunch spots, so for large groups you might need to plan logistics (seating, lines). Also, being casual, it’s less about lingering in luxury and more about enjoying the food & vibe.

Cafe No Sé

Vibe & setting: Stylish, Instagram-approved, airy with good aesthetic touches. (While I didn’t dig deep into every detail, it’s well-regarded in Austin lists of “brunch + ambiance” spots.)

Why it works for a bachelorette group: Great option when you want a fun, chic brunch experience with photo ops, good vibes, and a little stylish flair.

Classic Bachelorette Party Fun

Boat day on Lake Travis or Lake Austin (party barge, pontoon, or yacht rental)

We recommend: Pink Boat Austin

Pink Boat Austin isn’t your typical boat rental—this charter is designed to be the ultimate girls lake day experience. Perfect for groups of up to twelve, this all-pink boat is built for swimming, surfing, celebrating, or simply cruising in style. Each charter comes with a professional, friendly captain who handles everything, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy the day. On board, you’ll find pink-striped towels, high-quality surf gear, and a cooler stocked with ice for your favorite drinks. From start to finish, Pink Boat Austin delivers a one-of-a-kind lake experience where every moment is picture-perfect.

We also love: Getmyboat

Getmyboat is the best option for finding a captained boat charter in Austin for a bachelorette celebration. Using their mobile app or website, you can discover pontoons and yachts, many of which come with a cooler full of ice and a floating mat included. Stay safe with a local Getmyboat captain to handle the driving and navigation while your party has the best time on the water.

Barton Springs Pool

Credit: photo by David Brendan Hall

A must for any Austin bachelorette weekend, Barton Springs Pool is the city’s natural gem — a spring-fed oasis that stays a crisp 68°F all year. It’s the perfect place to recover after a night out or kick off the day with a refreshing dip. Out-of-towners will love the local vibe, the scenic Zilker Park setting, and the chance to experience something uniquely Austin. Bring your swimsuits, sunglasses, and a picnic — it’s the ultimate chill spot between all the celebrations.

Rainey Street Bar Crawl

Rainey Street is a bachelorette favorite — lively, walkable, and packed with charm. The bars and patios create a fun, laid-back party vibe perfect for group hopping. You’ll find everything from frozen drinks and live music to late-night tacos, all within a few blocks. It’s the ideal spot for out-of-towners to experience Austin’s nightlife energy in one easy, festive stretch.

6th Street Night Out

6th Street, the city’s most famous party strip. Packed with live music, lively bars, and dance spots, it’s where the night truly comes alive. Whether your crew wants to sing along at a piano bar, hit a rooftop, or just soak up the chaotic fun, 6th Street delivers that classic Austin nightlife energy — unforgettable and a little wild in the best way. Beware, the locals call it “dirty sixth” and there’s a reason for that.

Private Karaoke Room

For a bachelorette night that’s all about your group, private karaoke rooms are a must. Sing your hearts out, pop some bubbly, and laugh through your favorite throwbacks without an audience. It’s the perfect mix of fun and low-pressure — ideal for bonding before hitting the town. A great spot the checkout would be The Highball.

Food + Drink Experiences

Bachelorette brunch at spots like Aba, Josephine House, or Two Hands

Taco or BBQ tour (La Barbecue, Terry Black’s, Veracruz All Natural)

Winery tour

Uplift Vineyard. Photo by David Capote

A Hill Country winery tour is a perfect bachelorette getaway — scenic views, great wine, and zero stress. Just outside Austin, you can sip your way through beautiful vineyards with private transportation and plenty of photo ops. It’s a fun, relaxed way to celebrate with your crew.

Distillery or brewery hopping

For a laid-back but lively day, go distillery and brewery hopping around the Hill Country. Sip craft cocktails, local beers, and spirits while exploring the city’s best tasting rooms. Many spots have outdoor patios, food trucks, and live music — perfect for a fun, social bachelorette outing that feels authentically Austin. We like Deep Eddy Distillery, Treaty Oak, and Hold Out Brewing. Hold Out Brewing is located downtown so it’s a different vibe then heading out to the Hill County but great if you’re looking to drink beers in town.

Private chef dinner or in-home catered meal

Depending on your Airbnb, a private chef or at home dinner is a great option! As someone who has been on countless Bachelorette trips, this actually usually is one of the best nights of the trip. One of our favorite’s in town is Charred Hospitality.

Chill, Spa & Self-Care Moments

Spa day

Relax, unwind, and pamper yourselves with massages, facials, and luxury treatments. We have some pretty great spas, if you want a true immersive experience outside the city check out Lake Austin Spa or Miraval. For one in the city, we like Fairmont’s Spa.

Private at home beauty bar session

Think mini facials right at your Airbnb. We have used the BeatiBus and Lisa is an absolute dream!

 Creative + Unique Group Activities

Wig Party

Coco Coquette is one of Austin’s most beloved spots for playful makeovers and bachelorette fun. This whimsical boutique and wig shop offers glittery makeovers, custom wigs, and photo-ready glam sessions that let everyone tap into their alter ego.

Outdoor & Adventure Activities

Paddleboard or kayak

Explore Austin from the water with paddleboarding, kayaking, or canoeing on Lady Bird Lake. It’s a relaxing way to take in the city skyline, enjoy the outdoors, and share a fun adventure with friends. Perfect for bachelorette groups looking for a mix of activity, scenic views, and photo-worthy moments.

Walk The Trail + Boardwalk

The Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk is a scenic, elevated trail that winds along Austin’s iconic downtown waterfront. Perfect for walking, jogging, or casual strolls, it offers stunning views of the skyline, the lake, and the city’s natural beauty. With easy access to parks, public art, and photo-worthy spots, it’s a relaxing and picturesque way to experience the heart of Austin.

Day trip to Hamilton Pool Preserve or Krause Springs

Escape the city for a day trip to Hamilton Pool Preserve or Krause Springs, two of Texas’ most beautiful natural spots. Swim in crystal-clear springs, explore lush surroundings, and enjoy a peaceful day in nature. Perfect for a group outing or a relaxing break from the Austin bustle.

Hiking + picnic at Mount Bonnell or the Greenbelt

Take in breathtaking views and fresh air with a hike at Mount Bonnell or the Greenbelt. Both spots offer scenic trails and perfect picnic spots, making them ideal for a relaxing daytime outing with friends. It’s a great way to combine light adventure, stunning vistas, and quality time together.

Evening & Nightlife Ideas

Sunset rooftop drinks

Raise a glass above the city at some of Austin’s best rooftop bars. P6 offers stunning views of Lady Bird Lake and a chic, sunset-perfect atmosphere, while Nido delivers elevated cocktails and modern elegance high above the Loren Hotel. For tropical vibes, head to Zanzibar, where lush greenery and skyline views make every drink feel like vacation. El Alma charms with margaritas and casual Mexican fare on a cozy hillside patio, and La Piscina combines poolside luxury with craft cocktails and Tex-Mex favorites. Editors note: La Piscina is our favorite, the fajitas are best you’ll find in town.

Live music night

Austin’s live music scene is a must-see for any bachelorette group. Catch iconic acts at The Continental Club, a legendary spot for rock, blues, and country vibes, or enjoy lively performances at C-Boy’s Heart & Soul. Both of these posts are located on South Congress so a perfect spot to hit up if you have dinner in that area.

Austin has a vibrant jazz scene, perfect for a laid-back night out or a classy bachelorette evening. The Elephant Room is a cozy basement bar known for intimate jazz performances. Others to check out are Parker Jazz Club or Nica on 4th.

Live show or comedy

Catch a live show or comedy performance at one of Austin’s iconic venues. From hilarious sketches to legendary music acts, it’s a guaranteed way to add laughs and entertainment to your night. Check out Esther’s Follies (for SNL style comedy) , Antone’s, or The Paramount.
