Emmer & Rye Breaking Bread Dinner Series: Chef Gregory Gourdet

Emmer & Rye, the Rainey Street restaurant that helped redefine Austin’s culinary landscape, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with events on Nov. 8 and 9.

To kick off the anniversary weekend, Emmer & Rye will host a special edition of its Breaking Bread Guest Chef Series featuring celebrated Portland chef Gourdet of Kann and Sousòl. On Saturday, Nov. 8, Gourdet will join chefs Fink and Bristol-Joseph to serve one-night-only dishes alongside highlights from the restaurant’s past decade. Known for his award-winning Haitian restaurant, spotlighting the flavors of the African and Caribbean diaspora alongside the bounty of the Pacific Northwest, Gourdet’s approach echoes the Emmer & Rye ethos.
