Austin is one of the most popular bachelorette destinations in the country — think tacos, live music, rooftop cocktails, and lake days. Here’s your detailed guide to planning the perfect celebration.

When You Land

Airport: Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is only about 15 minutes from downtown.

Rideshare: Uber/Lyft are plentiful, but prices surge during peak hours and big events (SXSW, ACL). The Uber/Lyft pickup is located in one of the parking garages, so be sure to follow the signs.

We recommend FETII. Fetii is a rideshare service built specifically for groups. Their clean, on-demand 15-passenger vans pick up your whole crew in one vehicle. It’s the smart, affordable way to get around town.

It’s like a party bus… but more chill, cheaper, and way easier to book. Use code 365AUSTIN for 50% off your first 3 rides!

Best Times to Visit

Spring (March–May): Perfect weather, tons of festivals.

Fall (Sept–Nov): Still warm, with big events like ACL & Formula 1.

Summer (June–Aug): Hot, but great for lake and pool parties.

Where to Stay

Downtown: Ideal if you want to walk between bars, rooftops, and restaurants. Hotels: The LINE, Fairmont, Austin Proper, JW Marriott, The Loren.

South Congress (SoCo): Boutique vibes, shopping, iconic murals. Hotels: Hotel Saint Cecilia, South Congress Hotel.

East Austin: Trendy, eclectic, cocktail bars & coffee shops. Hotels/Airbnbs: Arrive Hotel, vibey modern rentals.

Here is our detailed guide and why we’d choose certain hotels vs. others.

What to Do (Daytime Fun)

Lake Party: Rent a party barge on Lake Travis or Lake Austin. Pack swimsuits, floaties, drinks, and playlists. Lake Travis is about 45 minutes from the city (definitely recommend booking a FETTI if you rent a boat on that lake). For lake rentals we love  Pink Boat Austin or Getmyboat.

Pool Scene: Book a cabana at the Fairmont or W Hotel for poolside drinks & DJ vibes.

Hill Country Wine Tour: Dripping Springs is 40 minutes away — wineries + breweries with scenic Hill Country views.

Shopping & Photos: South Congress is filled with boutiques and murals (“I Love You So Much” & “Greetings from Austin”).

Live Music: Catch a show at Mohawk, Contiental Club or a honky-tonk night at Broken Spoke for classic Austin energy.

Here is our detailed guide on activities and our Nightlife Map.

Where To Eat

Austin’s dining scene is made for a bachelorette weekend — fun, flavorful, and full of personality. Whether you’re craving Tex-Mex, coastal bites, or modern Southern comfort, there’s something for every vibe and budget.

Lively Group-Friendly Spots: Most restaurants are used to hosting big, celebratory tables. Expect shareable plates, upbeat playlists, and patios perfect for pre-dinner drinks.

Tex-Mex & Margaritas: You can’t come to Austin without queso and margs — local staples like Matt’s El Rancho or ATX Cocina bring that festive energy.

Trendy Hotspots: For a chic dinner before a night out, try Suerte, Este, or Justine’s — all known for incredible food and stylish atmospheres.

Brunch is a Big Deal: Expect long lines and even longer mimosa lists. Favorites include Perla’s, La Piscina, and June’s All Day for daytime celebrations.

Patios & Rooftops: Austin’s warm weather means outdoor dining is a must — from Loro’s backyard BBQ vibes to Zanzibar’s rooftop cocktails downtown.

Oysters: While we know we are not on a coast, that doesn’t mean we don’t have options for great oysters. Check out our favorite spots to get them here.

💡 Tip: Make reservations early, especially for weekend dinners or large groups, and plan to linger — Austin meals often flow right into drinks and dancing.

Here is our detailed guide on places to eat.

365 Austin’s Perfect Weekend Itinerary

As someone who has been here for over 20 years and lived in the downtown area, if we were planning making the itinerary this is what it would look like:

Arrival Day – Thursday:

La Piscina

Evening: Dinner at La Piscina. Enjoy rooftop vibes, the best fajitas in Austin and margs that will go down like water.

Friday:

Morning: walk the Lady Bird Lake trail and stop at Veracruz for breakfast tacos or walk over to Two Hands on South Congress.

Day Time: Spa Day at the Fairmont, their spa is packed with amenities, you can order champagne to the spa (v important). As someone who has been to all notable spa in the Austin area, this one is it.

Late Afternoon: Head to South Congress for local shopping and a cocktail. Can’t go wrong with a drink on Perla’s patio or a bottle of wine at June’s.

Dinner: Head to the Eastside for dinner. Justine’s would be my pick. After dinner head out to local bars in the area, White Horse would be a great place to start!

Saturday:

Lake Day. I’d pick the earlier time, aim for getting out there around 11 and off by 3pm. If it’s summer you are going to be exhausted (and likely drunk) from being in the sun.

Dinner: Tómalo Grill on Rainey Street would be a good place to have dinner because plates are shareable then you can easily hit the bars on Rainey. ATX Cocina is not far from Rainey Street and also would make a good dinner spot with their shareable plates.

Sunday:

Morning: if time allows I’d head to Paperboy for breakfast before airport.

Here’s a rotating list of our current favorites in no particular order. Whether you’re after a frozen ‘house’ margarita with a salted rim, or a premium margarita on the rocks with spicy tajin—this list has you covered with both established dives and a few newer kids on the block.

Polvos

Polvos has multiple locations in Austin now, but the restaurant on South 1st Street is our personal favorite for frozen margaritas with a full rainbow of available add-in flavors.

El Alma

When we want multiple marg options, we sit on the rooftop patio at El Alma. Their drink menu offers ELEVEN types of margaritas.

La Piscina

La Piscina’s cocktails are on the pricier side, but the ambience is great, and the margs are as strong as they are delicious.

ATX Cocina

For those seeking a unique marg, the ‘Frida Kahlo’ at ATX Cocina combines Don Fulano Blanco tequila, Jalisco 1562, blood orange, guava, lime, and black lava salt.

Fonda San Miguel

Deemed the mecca of Mexican Food in Austin, Fonda San Miguel also has really great margaritas. Try the Silvercoin, Watermelon infused with Patron Silver, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice.

De Nada

If you don’t have a few of De Nada’s signature pink cups in your cupboard, do you even live in Austin? These margs are both delicious and dangerous.

Cruzteca

This family-owned restaurant serves up ‘city-famous’ margaritas that are worthy of a visit all on their own, but try a few ‘old school’ tacos while you’re at Cruzteca as well.

Suerte

While Suerte may not prominently feature traditional margaritas on its menu, they do offer inventive agave-based cocktails like the ‘Don Dario’ that features reposado tequila, tamarind, lime, and sarsaparilla bitters.

Licha’s

Three words: $8 Happy Hour (four words?)—Combier finished margaritas and hearty snacks for eight bucks a pop.

Fresa’s

Our biggest struggle at Fresa’s is whether to order frozen or on the rocks, and then to drink them inside at the bar or outside on the patio.

La Condesa

One of the first high-end margarita establishments in Austin, the margs at La Condesa are still some of the best in the city. Go at happy hour for a discount and a bowl of guac.

Some casual sports tend to come in and out of fashion, but it looks like one is taking real root in Austin: pickleball. The sport—which is sort of like a combo of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong—has found a home among outdoorsy (and even not-so-outdoorsy) Austinites.

Played with paddles and a plastic ball on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net, pickleball has grown in popularity over recent years. It’s easy to see why: The rules are simple, it doesn’t require pro-level skills, and it’s a great way to meet up with friends. Plus, there are several bars and restaurants with courts in Austin.

Austin is also home to Pickleball Playmakers, an organization that will help you plan your next corporate or private pickleball event. They also offer one-on-one and group pickleball lessons for all skill levels.

Ready to hit the court? Here’s where you can play pickleball in Austin.

Austin Parks and Recreation Department Pickleball Courts

The city has over 15 sites of public pickleball courts across the city, which are free to use for anyone with paddles, and no reservation is needed. Some even have indoor courts for those unbearably hot days, such as the South Austin Recreation Center, Hancock Recreation Center, and the Northwest Recreation Center. Just find your closest location, and be sure to check the hours before you go.

Multiple locations

Austin Pickle Ranch

Austin Pickle Ranch is a true adult playground and hosts one of the largest set of indoor courts with 16 courts under one roof! Housing state-of-the-art courts, designed with performance in mind using CushionX technology. They offer open play, leagues, clinics, and more.

11000 Middle Fiskville Road, Building B, Austin, TX 78753

Austin Tennis Center

Austin Tennis Center is the largest public pickleball center and has eight lighted pickleball courts with permanent nets, so you don’t have to quit just because the sun went down. If you really want to hone your skills, join the pickleball league or take a lesson with Coach Calvin Keeney. Call 512-928-8119 or use the online court scheduler to reserve a court.

7800 Johnny Morris Rd.

Bouldin Acres

Bouldin Acres patrons can rent one of the restaurant’s two pickleball courts in half-hour increments for $10 to $20. Need some equipment? Court rental comes with two balls, and you can rent paddles for $2.50 each. Courts must be reserved online and in advance, and bookings open one week in advance.

2027 South Lamar Blvd.

Dreamland Dripping Springs

Dreamland, located in Dripping Springs, is a private event space with mini golf, a splash pad, sculptures scattered throughout, disc golf, and 16 dedicated pickleball courts open to the public. Open walk-in play is available Thursday through Sunday mornings for a nominal fee, or reserve a court for your group during those same days. No need to scrounge up a paddle if you don’t have one—Dreamland has rentals available for $3 each.

2770 Hwy 290, Dripping Springs

The Fieldhouse at the Crossover

The Fieldhouse at the Crossover in Cedar Park has plenty of activities—live music, volleyball, cornhole, and two pickleball courts available to rent by the hour. And on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to close, the Fieldhouse’s courts become 21 and up. Keep in mind pickleball paddles and balls are not included with your reservation.

1717 Scottsdale Drive, Cedar Park

Little Zilker Neighborhood Park

The public park, Little Zilker Neighborhood Park, has two first-come, first-served outdoor courts that are shared with the tennis courts, but you will need to bring your own net. Stop here for an afternoon of pickleball and utilize the nearby tables for a picnic.

2016 Bluebonnet Ln.

The Pitch

Located next to Parmer Field, the Pitch has two courts available for free reservations and one court open to the public. Two balls are provided, and paddles are available for rent for $2.50 per pair. The Pitch also has four restaurants and two bars to choose from after you work up an appetite.

13000 Harris Ridge Blvd.

Shalom Austin

You don’t have to be a member to take a pickleball class at Shalom Austin’s Hurt Family Tennis Center. They have four lit outdoor pickleball courts and classes and clinics for all levels. Non-members will pay a separate fee when they register.

7300 Hart Ln.

Ski Shores Cafe

MML Hospitality recently revamped the Lake Austin classic and installed special pickleball courts so you can play and sip a cocktail. You can likely expect pickleball events in the future—over Thanksgiving weekend in 2022, Ski Shores hosted their First Annual Ski Shores Doubles Classic, a three-day pickleball tournament.

2905 Pearce Rd.

East Side Paddle Club

Tired of waiting for courts in Austin? Eastside Paddle Club has nearly 30,500 square feet of space with 10 different courts to choose from. They are membership based but its the price you pay for indoor courts these days.
