SUMMARY:Stained Glass Holly Leaves hosted by Deke Cameron
DESCRIPTION:In this class\, students will assemble and solder a stained glass holly leaf ornament made from art glass sheets\, glass globs\, and lead came.\nHosted by The Glassclown\, this beginner-friendly workshop will guide students through the labor-intensive craft of stained glass over the course of 4 hours. Students will break and grind glass\, bend and form lead came\, and learn proper use of a soldering iron.\nAll skill levels are welcome and encouraged – no prior experience required. Minors ages 14+ may attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian.\nAll tools and materials are included. Personal protective equipment (like gloves and glasses) will be available\, though you are welcome to bring your own.\nSafety warning: This workshop can expose you to chemicals including lead\, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.\nInstructor bio:\nDeke Cameron is a self-taught stained glass artisan residing in Central Texas. Deke has been sharing the art of leaded stained glass with anyone who will listen for nearly 10 years. A life-long learner with a passion for teaching\, he specializes in custom stained glass panel design and fabrication\, as well as restoration and repairs of windows\, lampshades\, etc.
